Lampe Mont-mégantic
Il m’est venu à l’idée de créer une lampe à l’allure planétaire. Cette idée est venue de la nécessité de remplacement du luminaire existant. Bien que le modèle datait et avec une esthétique figée dans les années 80, l’essence même du luminaire était fort intéressante : pouvoir regarder, en position couchée, comme si nous pouvions contempler le ciel dans le confort de notre lit. Le luminaire en place était petit, timide, esseulé au plafond. Pour donner un effet de grandeur, la nouvelle source d’éclairage devait être imposante. Pour diminue son effet de taille, le blanc a été choisi pour se fondre au plafond et maximiser l’effet du jeu d’ombres et de lumière. Certaines des boules perforent les disques oblongs, tandis que d’autres y sont attachées, pendantes comme des gouttes d’eau, prêtes à tomber.
Mont-Mégantic était le nom prédestiné pour ce luminaire : l’endroit parfait pour observer le ciel.

I had the idea of creating a planetary-looking lamp. This idea arose from the need to replace the existing light fixture. Although the model was outdated and its aesthetic frozen in the 80s, the very essence of the light was quite interesting: the ability to lie down and gaze as if we could contemplate the sky from the comfort of our bed. The existing fixture was small, shy, and lonely on the ceiling. To create a sense of grandeur, the new light source had to be imposing. To soften its size, white was chosen to blend with the ceiling and maximize the play of shadows and light. Some of the spheres pierce the oblong discs, while others are attached to them, hanging like water droplets, ready to fall.
Mont-Mégantic was the perfect name for this light fixture: the ideal place to observe the sky.
